Meet Dr. Ali…

Medical Director

Dr. Karrar Ali is a board certified, residency-trained emergency physician. He has over 18 years of experience in the emergency departments throughout Southern California. Currently, he is on staff at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, Sharp Coronado Medical Center, and the VA San Diego. He has worked in an urban trauma center, community hospitals, and rural medical facilities throughout his career.

Dr. Ali currently serves on the executive board for the San Diego County Medical Society. Additionally, he is the medical director of Compassionate Care Hospice, a hospice company, where he cares for patients with debilitating, chronic disease.

As an emergency physician, Dr. Ali has taken care of patients from ankle sprains to heart attacks and strokes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was one of several physicians to volunteer his time in New York during the initial surge in 2020. He is also on staff at Aeromedevac as a flight physician, transporting critical ill patients around the world.

Dr. Ali and his wife Dr. Shahrzad Nooravi, a business psychologist, have lived in La Jolla for over 15 years. They enjoy life with their nephew, Mustafa, a pre-med student at UCSD, and their active Siberian Husky, Sky.

As an engaged member of the La Jolla community, Dr. Ali enjoys building relationships with residents, shop owners and civic leaders. He looks forward to serving you and your loved ones.
